2009 Preparedness Training Series

Back by popular demand, NCCPHP is pleased to offer the 2009 Preparedness Training Series with a certificate of completion for registered participants who complete 12 online training modules on preparedness topics during the 2009 calendar year.

What is this training series all about?

Every 2 months in 2009, the Preparedness Training Series will feature 4-5 trainings on a particular preparedness training topic. Each training is an online module that takes 30 minutes to complete. Participants may choose at least 2 of the trainings for each bi-monthly period. A certificate of completion will be awarded to those persons who complete 12 trainings (including at least 2 trainings for each bi-monthly topic) between January 1 and December 31, 2009.

What does it require?

To participate, you must first register and receive login information for the NCCPHP Training Web Site. All you need to access the trainings is a computer with an Internet connection. While you are encouraged to complete one of the featured trainings each month, you may complete them at any time during the year.

What does it cost?

There is no cost to take part in the featured trainings or to receive the certificate. Additionally, free continuing education credits (CEUs) are offered for all of the trainings.

How do I get started?

To participate in the 2009 NCCPHP Preparedness Training Series, simply select a training that you would like to take from the list. You will be taken to that training on the NCCPHP Training Web Site.

If you are already a registered user of this site, log in with your user name and password and complete the training. Once a month you will receive an email announcement that will include the topic of the month for the Preparedness Training Series. (Note: If you are a registered user of the NCCPHP Training Web Site but are not sure whether you are signed up to receive the Monthly Update, please email nccphp@unc.edu.)

If you need to register, click the “Registration Form” link on the training page and complete a registration request form with your name, email address, and location. You will receive a user name and password to access the NCCPHP Training Web Site. Please note that when you register, it is very important that you keep the box checked that says “Sign me up for the Preparedness Center listserv”.

Once a month you will receive an email announcement that will include the topic of the month for the Preparedness Training Series.

How do I get a certificate of completion?

When you have completed 12 modules in the series (at least 2 on each bi-monthly topic), please email nccphp@unc.edu. You will be sent a link to a short online evaluation. Once you have completed the survey, a certificate of completion will be mailed to you.
