NCCPHP Presents Training on Pan Flu Planning for Correctional Facilities

On April 23, NCCPHP staff attended the 2008 Jail Health Update in Atlantic Beach, NC. Richard Rosselli presented "Planning for Pandemic Influenza in Correctional Facilities" to attendees from local sheriff's departments, health departments, and jails.
Following the presentation, NCCPHP staff led participants in small group discussions about issues facing correctional facilities during a pandemic, including screening for influenza, infection control, and staff absenteeism.

North Carolina Center for Public Health Preparedness, and the Triangle

intend to respond to an event in the state, methods of communicating about
this threat with the public, the economic and social impact of an outbreak
on North Carolina, and the state of response planning for a pandemic influenza.
