Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is a webinar?
It's basically
a cross between a webcast and a conference call. Webinar technology enables
participants to view presentation slides and submit questions online and
listen over the phone as presenters discuss their training resources and
answer the audience's questions. To participate, you must have both a
computer with an internet connection and a telephone.
What
will I learn?
The webinars
feature all eight training programs delivered at the NACCHO Advanced Practice
Centers Training Conference in February 2008. Each APC presenter will
give a brief overview of the training resources, describe ways they can
be used by health departments, and answer questions from the audience.
As an additional resource, a trainer's guide and accompanying CD-ROM containing
the 2008 APC conference training materials may also be obtained from NACCHO.
Who
should attend?
The APC Webinar
Series is intended for NACCHO members, public health staff responsible
for preparedness, and others interested in public health preparedness.
What
was the agenda for the webinars?
1:45 pm EDT
- Access
the website and dial the toll-free number provided in the confirmation
email. If you are not in Eastern Daylight Time, please note the correct
starting time.
2:00 pm EDT
- Start promptly
with a review of the agenda and brief instructions on how to ask questions
and how to receive technical assistance.
- Each Advanced
Practice Center will deliver an overview of the training resources they
have developed (approx. 15 min.) and then respond to questions from
the audience (approx. 10 min).
- At the
conclusion, attendees will receive information on how to access additional
APC resources and will be asked to respond to a brief evaluation.
What
are the technical requirements to participate?
To participate
in these webinars, you will need access to a computer with an internet
connection to view the presentation and a touch tone telephone to hear
the presenters.
Computer

need to disable all 'Pop-Up Blocker' software to properly open the presentation
window. To override the 'Pop-Up Blocker', hold down the Control Key while

How
do I test my computer prior to the webinar?

in the webinar several days prior to the event to ensure that you will
be able to view the presentation portion of the webinar. The confirmation
memo you receive will have the link to connect to the brief system test.
